A knowledgeable dealer with years of experience and familiarity with the current market is the best way to accurately appraise your rugs.  This is especially true in a market where the demand for certain types of rugs changes based on certain designs, technical features and colors.

A wide range of factors influence the value of an antique rug. A few characteristics which aid in determining the selling price are: condition, age, design, coloration, materials, size and where it was made.

Our rate for a written appraisal is $500 plus expenses, which may include travel, for the first piece. For more than one item please contact us for a quote. We never charge on a value basis as that may affect a final appraisal figure.

Oral only appraisals are not given. All appraisals are written. For carpets which we sell, the sales receipt is acceptable as a current appraisal. Appraisals are provided for tax, estate and family division, insurance and other purposes.
