The Aubusson and Savonnerie French tapestry workshops continued producing extremely decorative and artistic works throughout the 20th century. This wholly abstract recent creation has a signature C.D Estienne. The designer of the original painting on which this tapestry is based. The dyes are bright and crisp but are all natural. The weavers of Aubusson created works to last centuries and they expect the colors to mellow somewhat over time. This piece may be used on the floor or on the wall in either a vertical or horizontal orientation. The condition is exemplary.
Vacuum your rug frequently and use a vacuum which uses suction and does not have bristles. If possible, set vacuum to low power setting and vacuum the rug up and down and do not use a back-and-forth motion.
If possible, rotate the rug every few years to allow foot traffic to be spread evenly and shade the rug from direct sunlight to avoid fading in areas.
A rug pad is recommended on all surfaces to prevent slipping and stop marking if on floors with grooves or lines. Professional cleaning is recommended every two or three years.
