Woven in silver metal thread, silk and wool, the subject depicts the story of Pan and Syrinx, and Alpheius and Arethusa from the Metamorphoses series, in a wooded landscape, an elaborate scrolling foliage and arabesque border decorated with flowers and arrow quivers.

This artisan handwoven antique masterpiece, made in Brussels around 1660, is truly a part of history.
